State of the City: Coventry 2009
‘State of the City: Coventry in 2009’ provides a snapshot
of life in the city. It illustrates the latest economic and
social trends that have an impact on the quality of life in
Coventry and is based on data and information from a
wide range of sources.
The summary and full version of State of the City also
provides information on transport; street and
neighbourhoods; and culture and sport.The contents are
not exhaustive but form the basis for any further planning
or policy development in the coming months.

Since the mid - 1990’s Coventry’s population has grown, and in recent years this trend has
shown no signs of halting. The population of Coventry in 2008 was 309,800 - a further rise of
3,100 or one per cent on 2007.
