YOUTH SCHOLARSHIPS

ANGELO AND FRANK AGRO
UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
Application deadline: April 15, 2013
For 4-H members attending post-secondary education
Nine awards of $7,000 ($1,750 annually for four years)
Applicants must be full-time students entering semester
one at the University of Guelph who have attained a minimum
75% admission average and completed a minimum
of 10 4-H projects. Applicants are to submit a one to two
page point-form listing of their 4-H club activities and a
reference letter from a 4-H club official. Scholarship
recipients are required to maintain full time studies and a
70% program average each year for the continuation of

GROWMARK, INC. 2013 ESSAY CONTEST
Submission deadline: May 15, 2013
For high school 4-H members in Ontario. The 2013 essay
theme is “Fighting Domestic and Global Hunger”. Applicants
must write a 500 word essay answering the following
questions: What agricultural technologies and practices
will increase food production? How do local agricultural
co-operatives help farmers combat domestic and world
hunger? What kind of partnerships can help fight hunger
worldwide? What can you personally do to impact world
hunger? A provincial winner will receive a $500 scholarship
and the 4-H Association of the provincial winner will
receive a $300 award. Four runners-up will each receive a

BERTRAM AND HAZEL STEWART
4-H DAIRY YOUTH EDUCATION
AWARD & BURSARY
Application deadline: September 27, 2013
The Bertram and Hazel Stewart 4-H Dairy Youth
Education Award & Bursary honours Bertram and the
late Hazel Stewart’s deep commitment and passion toward
agriculture, education and 4-H. Presented by the Stewart
Family at the 4-H Dairy Youth Classic Show held at the
Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, this award and
conditional bursary of $1,000 will be awarded annually to
a 4-H Ontario Dairy Club member to support their postsecondary

JUSTIN PARISH MEMORIAL BURSARY
Submission deadline: September 27, 2013
This $500 bursary honours the spirit of Justin’s dream of
one day attending the Classic Show at the Royal Agricultural
Winter Fair, his love of farming and 4-H. Presented by
the Parish Family, this bursary will support a 4-H Ontario
Dairy Club member to attend the Royal in Toronto, Ontario

HENRIKE FOERSTER MEMORIAL 4-H
ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP
Application deadline: October 1, 2013
Offered by the Agro Scholarship Fund, a $500 scholarship
for a first year student in the Associate Diploma in Veterinary
Technology Program at the University of Guelph’s
Ridgetown Campus who has demonstrated involvement
in past and/or current 4-H activities in Ontario. For more

AGRIVENTURE 4-H ADVENTURE
OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP 2014
Application deadline: December 1, 2013
The 4-H AgriVenture Scholarship invites 4-H members
from across Canada to apply for the $3,000 scholarship
towards participation in an AgriVenture program. Applicants
must: be between the ages of 18 and 30 at the time
of travel; have been a member of the 4-H program for a
minimum of two years; provide a letter from a former 4-H
volunteer confirming their 4-H participation; initiate travel
within one year of award. The 4-H AgriVenture Scholarship
winner will be expected to send monthly reports and
photos for publication, and be available for interviews,
speaking engagements and other promotional activities
