The Church is in Jubilee as it recalls that 2000 years ago the Son
of God united Himself to human flesh in order to bring back men and
women to the home of the Father. Her joy is possible because this is an
event that does not just belong to the past: but is ever present, especially
through the Sacrament of the Eucharist. This article would like to be a
help in strengthening the joy of the Church by showing how the
eucharistic presence of the Risen Crucified shows a “plus” in respect to
the first type of presence but a “minus” in respect to the final type which
is the definitive and eschatological presence that the sacrament already
prepares by arousing the desire in the heart of believers: “Come, Lord
Jesus!”
La Iglesia celebra el Jubileo al recordar que hace 2000 años el Hijo
de Dios se unió personalmente a la humanidad para devolver a los
hombres y mujeres a la casa del Padre. Su alegría es posible porque éste
es un evento que no pertenece sólo al pasado, sino que es siempre
actual, sobre todo en el Sacramento de la Eucaristía. El autor del
artículo quisiera ayudar a intensificar la alegría de la Iglesia indicando
cómo la presencia eucarística del Resucitado Crucificado muestra
“más” respecto a su primer modelo de presencia, pero “menos” respecto
al modelo final que es la presencia definitiva y escatológica que el
sacramento ya prepara suscitando el deseo en el corazón de creyentes:
“Ven, Señor Jesús!”
