Wide Horizontal and Vertical Production Ranges
Vehicle construction and vehicle repair
One of FFG’s core businesses is vehicle construction
and vehicle repair.
State-of-the-art mechanical engineering with a high
vertical range of production is necessary to be able
to react quickly to defective parts when repairing
vehicles.
We are able to pass this benefit on to our customers,
as well as providing a wide range of services such as:
● Mechanical production
● Profile processing
● Surface treatment
● Electrical equipment
● Sheet metal workshop
● Welding
The range starts from the simple processing of sheet
metal to complex CNC milling parts and profile processing
including painting and continues all the way to
the construction of complex assemblies, which
includes development and design wherever necessary.
Our welding services are certified in accordance
with DIN 6700 (welding railed vehicles and upper
assemblies). We also have the facilities to carry
out non-destructive testing in accordance with
DIN EN 473.
Mechanical production · Profile processing
The mechanical production department is equipped
with the latest CNC machines. Our customers
include the German Federal Armed Forces, as well as
well-known companies such as Diehl and Siemens.
Our production facilities have been adapted to the
manufacture of aluminium and steel parts.
As subcontractors we produce complex aluminium
structural parts, 85% of which involve machine
cutting.
We have the expertise to carry out various types of
repairs. This includes metal spraying and grinding shaft
fittings.
Special machines custom-built by FFG for machining
armoured hulls, as well as the capability to process
profiles of up to 7500 mm in length and with a
cross-section of 720 x 300 with the highest precision
possible, round off our mechanical production
programme.

Surface treatment
The range of services extends from cleaning
the parts, to abrasive blasting with corundum and
cast steel, to the final paint finish. We have painting
cabins 5.5 m x 12 m in size, with or without a pit
available. Parts up to 20 kg can be processed on the
powder coating system.
Electrical equipment
We offer the following services:
● Cable assembly
● Control cabinet construction, wiring, testing
● Assembly – Cable repairs
● Component installation in vehicles etc.
Welding technology
Our machine equipment includes pulsed MIG welding,
MAG welding, tungsten inert gas systems for welding
and cutting as well as plasma cutting and plasma joining
technology. Soldering, spray fusing, resurfacing welding,
joint welding with low and high alloy fillers as well as
the latest special alloys and light metals are all a part of
the services we offer.
Sheet metal workshop
In the sheet metal workshop a wide range of processing
techniques are available, from laser cutting to manufacturing
a finished bended part. All popular connecting
elements and techniques such as screws and rivets,
welding are available. NC pipe-bending presses for
pipe diameters up to 22 x 2 mm can also be offered.
