F-464 Dining & Resident Activities. The facility must<br />
provide one or more rooms designated for resident<br />
dining and activities that are well lighted, well<br />
ventilated, adequately furnished and have sufficient<br />
space to accommodate all activities.<br />
F-465 Other Environmental Conditions. The facility must<br />
provide a safe, functional, sanitary, and comfortable<br />
environment for residents, staff and the public.<br />
F-466 Available Water Supply. The facility must establish<br />
procedures to ensure that water is available to essential<br />
areas when there is a loss of normal water supply.<br />
F-467 Outside Ventilation. The facility must ensure there is<br />
adequate outside ventilation by means of windows,<br />
mechanical ventilation, or a combination of the two.<br />
F-468 Handrails. The facility must ensure corridors are<br />
equipped with firmly secured handrails on each side.<br />
F-469 Pest Control Program. The facility must maintain an<br />
effective pest control program so that the facility is free<br />

F-490 Administration. The facility must be administered in a<br />
manner that enables it to use its resources effectively<br />
and efficiently to attain or maintain the highest<br />
practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial wellbeing<br />
of each resident.<br />
F-491 Licensure. The facility must be licensed under<br />
applicable State and local law.<br />
F-492 Federal, State & Local Laws. The facility must operate<br />
and provide services in compliance with all applicable<br />
Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and codes,<br />
and with accepted professional standards and principles<br />
that apply to professionals providing services in such a<br />
facility.<br />
F-493 Governing Body. The facility must have a governing<br />
body that is legally responsible for establishing and<br />
implementing policies regarding the management and<br />
operation of the facility; and appointing the<br />
administrator who is licensed by the State (where<br />
required) and responsible for the management of the<br />
