F-313 Vision & Hearing. The facility must ensure that<br />

residents receive proper treatment and assistive devices<br />

to maintain vision and hearing abilities by making<br />

appointments and arranging transportation to the<br />

offices of the appropriate professionals.<br />

F-314 Pressure Sores. The facility must ensure that<br />

1. A resident who enters the facility without pressure<br />

sores does not develop pressure sores unless the<br />

individual’s clinical condition demonstrates that they<br />

were unavoidable.<br />

2. A resident having pressure sores receives necessary<br />

treatment and services to promote healing, prevent<br />

infection and prevent new sores from developing.<br />

F-315 Urinary Incontinence. The facility must ensure that a<br />

resident who enters the facility without an indwelling<br />

catheter is not catheterized unless the resident’s clinical<br />

condition demonstrates that catheterization was<br />

necessary and a resident that is incontinent of bladder<br />

receives appropriate treatment and services to prevent<br />

UTI’s and to restore as much bladder function as much<br />

as possible.<br />

F-317 Range of Motion Diminished. The facility must ensure<br />

that a resident who enters the facility without a limited<br />

range of motion does not experience reduction in range<br />

of motion unless the resident’s clinical condition<br />

demonstrates that a reduction in range of motion is<br />

unavoidable.<br />

F-318 Range of Motion Treatment and Services. The facility<br />

must ensure that a resident with a limited range of<br />

motion receives appropriate treatment and services to<br />

increase range of motion and/or to prevent further<br />

decrease in range of motion.<br />

F-319 Mental & Psychosocial Functioning. The facility must<br />

ensure that a resident who displays mental or<br />

psychosocial adjustment difficulty receives appropriate<br />

treatment and services to correct the assessed problem<br />

and/or assist him/her in reaching and maintaining the<br />

highest level of mental and psychosocial functioning.<br />
