Objectives:<br />
1. The student will be able to use a prime number table to find prime and composite<br />
numbers.<br />
2. The student will be able to find prime numbers in a table and shade them in to find<br />
a message.<br />
3. The student will be able to find the prime factors of composite numbers.<br />
4. The student will be able to order numbers ranging from two digit to six digit.<br />
5. The student will be able to find the sum or two, two digit numbers.<br />
6. Given clues, the student will be able to use the problem solving skill of elimination<br />
and determine the value of a given number.<br />
Teaching Tips:<br />
1. Students who would like to complete a prime number table on their own may use<br />
Worksheet 25.<br />

Activities:<br />
1. Review the poster from Lesson 44 Explanation defining prime and composite<br />
numbers.<br />
2. Read Lesson 45 Explanation with the students.<br />
3. Call out the following numbers one at a time, and have the student tell if they are<br />
prime or composite: 3, 4, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, 17. (They may refer to the chart in<br />
Lesson 45 Explanation when necessary.)<br />
4. The students should be able to complete Lesson 45 Practice independently. Assist<br />
the students as they complete Lesson 45-2 Practice.<br />
