727 Neuropsychology Practicum II: Assessment<br />

(400 clock hours minimum) 1 cr.<br />

728 Pediatric Neuropsychological Assessment 3 cr.<br />

Total Credit Hours: 19<br />

* Doctoral Internship with a focus <strong>of</strong> at least 50% on neuropsychology.<br />

Although not required, <strong>Adler</strong> <strong>School</strong> doctoral students, who are completing<br />

this concentration program, are highly encouraged to carry out a dissertation<br />

that is primarily neuropsychological in nature.<br />

In addition to the neuropsychology courses listed above, other related<br />

elective courses are <strong>of</strong>fered intermittently, on such topics as psychological and<br />

medical aspects <strong>of</strong> head trauma, assessing memory and amnesic disorders,<br />

ADHD seminar, and the Halstead-Reitan Battery.<br />

Graduation Requirements<br />

1. Satisfactory completion <strong>of</strong> 19 credit hours, including all required<br />

courses.<br />

2. Satisfactory completion <strong>of</strong> 800 clock hours <strong>of</strong> clinical<br />

neuropsychological assessment practicum with ancillary seminars.<br />

3. A cumulative grade point average <strong>of</strong> 3.0 or higher and no more than<br />

one grade <strong>of</strong> “C.”<br />

4. Satisfactory completion <strong>of</strong> a 2,000 hour doctoral internship with a<br />

focus <strong>of</strong> at least 50% on neuropsychology.<br />

5. Submission <strong>of</strong> a completed Graduation Application and full payment<br />

<strong>of</strong> all outstanding tuition and fees.<br />

6. Faculty approval for graduation and recommendation to the Board <strong>of</strong><br />

Trustees for the conferral <strong>of</strong> the Concentration in Clinical<br />

Neuropsychology.<br />

Concentration/Certificate<br />

in Group Psychotherapy<br />

The innovative Certificate in Group Psychotherapy program is designed to<br />

provide students with an opportunity to explore and expand pr<strong>of</strong>essional and<br />

personal capabilities. The program incorporates theory and technique in group<br />

therapy development <strong>of</strong> the therapist’s style, and the applications <strong>of</strong> group<br />

therapy methods to resolving conflict and addressing social issues. The central<br />

goal is to increase students’ effectiveness and creativity in therapeutic<br />

interactions by helping them experience and understand the use <strong>of</strong> self in the<br />
