Scholarships<br />
Scholarships are a form <strong>of</strong> gift aid and do not have to be repaid.<br />
Scholarships vary in amount and can be based on a student’s financial need,<br />
merit, community involvement, or other criteria.<br />
<strong>Adler</strong> <strong>School</strong> Institutional Scholarships<br />
<strong>Adler</strong> <strong>School</strong> funds a limited number <strong>of</strong> scholarships for both incoming and<br />
current students. Students must be enrolled full-time to receive a scholarship<br />
from <strong>Adler</strong> <strong>School</strong>. For descriptions <strong>of</strong> these scholarships and application<br />
requirements, please refer to posted scholarship applications at the Vancouver<br />
Campus.<br />
M.A. in Counseling <strong>Psychology</strong> (M.A.C.)<br />
The Master <strong>of</strong> Arts (M.A.) in Counseling <strong>Psychology</strong> program is designed to<br />
provide students with a foundation in theories and methods <strong>of</strong> counseling<br />
psychology with hands-on, practical, supervised training in counseling<br />
psychology techniques. The program <strong>of</strong>fers the best features <strong>of</strong> traditional<br />
(M.A.) training programs coupled with <strong>Adler</strong> <strong>School</strong>’s emphasis on the education<br />
and training in socially responsible practice.<br />
This comprehensive graduate program can be completed in 24 months <strong>of</strong><br />
full-time attendance. Graduates <strong>of</strong> the program are well prepared for a wide<br />
variety <strong>of</strong> community mental health positions in human service agencies and<br />
organizations in both the public and private sectors. This degree program<br />
exceeds the academic and pre-degree training and education requirements for<br />
the Licensed Clinical Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Counselor (LCPC) in the State <strong>of</strong> Illinois and<br />
the Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in the Province <strong>of</strong> British Columbia.<br />
Graduates <strong>of</strong> the Vancouver Campus are eligible for membership with the<br />
British Columbia Association <strong>of</strong> Clinical Counsellors (www.bc-counsellors.org)<br />
and/or the Canadian Counselling Association (www.ccacc.ca). However, this<br />
degree is not intended to, nor does it prepare students to qualify upon<br />
graduation for membership with the College <strong>of</strong> Psychologists <strong>of</strong> BC or to use<br />
the designation "Psychologist" in British Columbia.<br />
