experience in child maltreatment and abuse. Dr. Kenefick has administrative,<br />

teaching, and clinical experience, and is dedicated to issues <strong>of</strong> social justice<br />

and diversity.<br />

J. Mark Killmer, Psy.D., Core Faculty<br />

Dr. Killmer is a core faculty member in the marriage and family therapy<br />

program. He received his MFT post-master’s degree training at Penn (U. Pa.)<br />

Council for Relationships (formerly The Marriage Council) and doctorate in MFT<br />

at the Graduate Theological Foundation (Oxford University). He earned a B.A.<br />

in Religion at Duke University and a M. Div. in Pastoral Counseling from<br />

Vanderbilt Divinity <strong>School</strong>. An ordained Presbyterian clergyperson, Dr. Killmer<br />

has thirty years <strong>of</strong> experience as a mental health chaplain, marriage and family<br />

therapist, clinical supervisor, and not-for-pr<strong>of</strong>it administrator. Primary areas <strong>of</strong><br />

expertise include Transgenerational Family Therapy, recovery from affairs,<br />

integration <strong>of</strong> religion and spirituality in therapy, forgiveness, the transformative<br />

process, therapist development as well as stress, coping, and resiliency.<br />

Peter Liu, Ph.D., Core Faculty and Program Director <strong>of</strong> the Counseling and<br />

Organizational <strong>Psychology</strong> Program<br />

Dr. Liu completed his B.Sc. (Hon.) and Ph.D. degrees at the University <strong>of</strong><br />

Toronto and also holds a Certificate in Management (C.M.) from Harvard<br />

University. His academic training in Cross-Cultural Educational <strong>Psychology</strong> is<br />

complemented with clinical training at CHEO (Children's Hospital <strong>of</strong> Eastern<br />

Ontario) in Ottawa, Canada and a post-doctoral clinical internship at The<br />

University <strong>of</strong> Zurich, Switzerland. He has taught <strong>Psychology</strong> and Management<br />

courses for international college students, adult learners and corporate<br />

executives. In addition, he has been active in conducting organizational<br />

projects, talent assessment and leadership development initiatives for major<br />

global corporations. He is a licensed industrial psychologist and specializes in<br />

executive coaching, organizational change, outplacement, and career<br />

counseling.<br />

Erik Mansager, Ph.D., Core Faculty<br />

Dr. Erik Mansager is a member <strong>of</strong> the Core Faculty. Dr. Mansager earned his B.A.<br />

in humanities from St. Thomas Seminary College in Denver, his M.A. in<br />

counseling and guidance specializing in marriage and family counseling at the<br />

University <strong>of</strong> Arizona, and his Ph.D. in depth psychology at the Catholic<br />

University <strong>of</strong> Leuven in Belgium. Previously he was the Director <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Counseling Center at the University <strong>of</strong> North Dakota and Interim Vice President<br />

and Academic Dean at St. John's Seminary College in Camarillo, CA. Dr.<br />

Mansager is a licensed clinical pr<strong>of</strong>essional counselor and he has more than 25<br />

years experience providing therapy and education to abused children,<br />

adolescent substance abusers and their parents, as well as mediating<br />
