Minutes: The members have always put forward the need for a new constitution, and have been willing to take an active role in<br />
this effect. Therefore they have agreed that as a matter <strong>of</strong> agency, the present constitution should be comprehensively amended<br />
in the following areas, by December 2002.<br />
Education, Health, Shelter, Land, Economy, Administration and Environment.<br />
Education: There should be a free basic primary education for all. There should be loans from the government for all the<br />
students in <strong>public</strong> universities. That is, the government should provide or give loans to all students in the universities.<br />
The constitution <strong>of</strong> Kenya should be taught in all primary schools, and should be translated to all languages in Kenya, for ease <strong>of</strong><br />
understanding.<br />
There should be tough rules on minor delinquent provinces in order to curb strikes and general lawlessness in our schools.<br />
School administration should be strengthened in order to ensure good learning standard. This will curb teachers engaging in<br />
business and other activities. That is because they have been employed by the government. Refer to the old system <strong>of</strong><br />
education, i.e. the old system <strong>of</strong> government immediately. Private schools should be licensed to operate in strict guidance <strong>of</strong> the<br />
ministry <strong>of</strong> education in order to ensure that they meet the standards laid down in the education act. The quota system <strong>of</strong><br />
education should be scrapped in order to give way for students in primary schools to be selected to the National schools on<br />
merit…<br />
