TEMPERING<br />

Choose the tempering temperature according to the<br />

hardness required by reference to the tempering<br />

graph below. Temper at least twice with intermittent<br />

cooling to room temperature. The lowest<br />

tempering temperature which should be used is<br />

525°C (980°F). The minimum holding time at<br />

temperature is 2 hours.<br />
