Fly Fishing Tails is a first of its kind in<br />
South Africa. A truly digital only magazine<br />
with a free distribution to all who want<br />
it. It is not a website, but rather a digital<br />
representation of a print magazine, with<br />
the added features and associated benefits<br />
that the digital platform brings.<br />
WELCOME<br />
So as usual mother nature is up to the usual…a<br />
bit of warmer weather to get us all dropping<br />
our guard and then BAM, cold snap. Only<br />
difference is that this year she delivered her<br />
usual bitchy bout with a sprinkling of the white<br />
stuff.<br />
I remember seeing a Leon Schuster movie years ago called<br />
“Oh, Shucks here comes UNTAG”. In the film, one of the<br />
characters from overseas asks a local SA boer “when does it<br />
snows in this place?” To which the prompt reply was “When<br />
Transvaal win the curry cup!” Well I can tell you that at the<br />
time of Johannesburg’s first snow in some 31 years, the Lions<br />
(Transvaal) are in fact the reigning curry cup champions.<br />
Maybe Leon knows more than we do with his Nostradamuslike<br />
prediction all those years ago, but I can tell you<br />
something I know now…summer IS here. Albeit with a bit<br />
of a bite in the air, and yes probably a bitch, I mean cold slap<br />
to come, but as far as I’m concerned it is here. Well that’s my<br />
story an I’m sticking to it…<br />
On the fishing front if you are yet to get down to the Vaal<br />
or any other yellowfish destination, then get your plans in<br />
place cos now is the time before it gets too hot.<br />
