Importance of Research-based Interventions • Individuals with disabilities deserve to receive effective interventions • Many allied health and human services professionals receive training that does not emphasize scientific training (Jacobson, Foxx, & Mulick. 2005a) • Lack of research time and expertise can lead many well intentioned professionals to recommend interventions based on familiarity <strong>Hyatt</strong>, Filler, & Krasch; TASH 2009 3
