Women in Trades and Technology
Only 4.6 percent of people working in the trades
in Nova Scotia are women and at NSCC, women
represent just under 10 percent of all students
enrolled in trades and technology programs.
While the number of women entering the field is
increasing, there is progress to be made.
Michelin is partnering with NSCC to encourage
young women to enter a trades and technology
program and consider the career options
open to them. www.nscc.ca (2007)
