Installation example for the grumbach shower 

floor system: adjusting plate (1) with shower 

floor element made of PUR (2) for direct tiling - 

perfect for floor level showers. 

It is common knowledge that the popularity and importance of walk-in showers with no 

floor threshold is increasing. Not only wheelchair users, but also senior citizens, are 

tending towards using this type, as there is no threshold which could cause tripping. 

In addition, floor level showers allow a uniformed appearance in the bathroom – an 

important reason for their increased popularity. The shower floor can be optically integrated 

into the room completely. Matching tiles can then be fitted on the walls and 

floors. 

For this reason, Grumbach has developed various shower floor elements, which can be 

installed on a robust base unit (adjusting frame or adjusting plate) – with perfect fitting 

and without leveling fill or levelling screed. 

The new floor level shower floor system from Grumbach 

consists of the following components: 

A. Shower floor elements made of PUR are made of high-grade, CFC-free and extra 

stable Polyurethane integrated hard foam (PUR). They are not only heat and condensation 

water insulated, but also they are suitable for direct tiling. The distinguish 

themselves through their high point loading value (> 300 kg/m 2 ) and are therefore 

also suitable for wheelchair even when tiled with mosaic tiles. Currently, seven 

different standard versions are available. 

B. Shower floor elements made of mineral material (Rokan) are alternatives to 

PUR shower floor elements. There are 4 versions: 2 sizes, each with 2 models. 

C. Adjusting plates made of PUR are a robust and fitting addition to the shower 

floor elements. They are available in 8 different versions as standard: 2 standard 

sizes, each with minimal or maximal openings, and all in 2 installation heights. 

D. Adjusting plates made of PUR are suitable for many commercially 

available shower floor elements and shower trays due to their considerably stable 

construction.

Edge drainage 

There is no grate or channel here, only a drain edge, 

into which the water gladly disappears! The level 

standing area without grate or channel is therefore 

very "feet friendly" and has an elegant appearance!

Please note: 

All Grumbach shower floor elements have a 5 cm wide sealing foil cover. Through the 

cutting of the Grumbach shower floor element, the ends of the sloping lines no longer end 

in the corners of the elements. After cutting, the surrounding edge of the shower element 

is no longer of uniform height. This can be remedied on site with the corresponding tile 

adhesive. 

The adjusting plates only fit onto the Grumbach shower floor elements.
