Directive 94/9/EC, also known as ATEX 95 or the ATEX 

Equipment Directive covers machinery, components and controls 

that work in explosive atmospheres. The directive requires the 

employers to do all in their power to prevent explosions and 

provide protection. 

Directive 99/92/EC, also known as ATEX 137 or the ATEX 

Workplace Directive states that the employer must determine 

how often, and where, a potentially explosive atmosphere will be 

present. These areas should be zoned according to the relevant 

specifications. The employer must ensure only equipment of the 

correct category is used in a certain zone type.

Nederman Vacuum Hose Reel Series 881 

The vacuum hose reel facilitates the handling of long and heavy 

vacuum hoses, and provides tidy and safe storage when they are 

not in use. Keeps hoses out of the way of forklifts and mobile 

workshop equipment. Separate suspension brackets make

Extension Arm 

The Nederman Extension Arm, 4.2 m or 6.0 m, is designed to be used 

when extra reach is needed. Combine it with fume or dust extraction arms, 

or exhaust extraction equipment for cars or trucks. Made of robust steel 

profiles. Suspended by a pivoting wall bracket and equipped with a joint 

in the middle, which makes it flexible in all directions. It is possible to add 

other equipment to the Extension Arm, such as welding machines, and 

hose and cable reels. 

• A universal bracket makes it possible to fit additional equipment directly 

on to the Extension Arm

explosive dust and gas, and with extremely high hygienic demands.

MFS – Modular Filter System 

MFS offers maximum flexibility through its unique modular concept of 

standard mounting and filter elements. Virtually any combination can be 

achieved, from a single filter assembly, to larger multi-stage filter systems 

combining particle, HEPA and Gas. For filtration of both particles and 

gases, place the particle filter before the gas filter. To increase the total

NOM Oil Mist Filter 

NOM 4 is designed for single CNC machines with limited 

oilmist and enclosed cabinet. The NOM 11, NOM 18, NOM 28 

and NOM 112 filters are designed for applications with need for 

larger airflow capacities, e.g. in bakeries, for machines stamping

Fan Controls 


Less heated air is extracted to outside, and less electricity consumed if 

the fan operates only while the work is in progress. Switch on/off the fan 

manually at the hood, or automatically with a sensor clamp. Single phase 

power supply of the Operation Box. The automatic Fan Control has a 

sensor clamp to be attached on the ground cable of the welding set for 

automatic start of the fan. It is able to detect currents from 8A. The Operation 

Box consists of a transformer 30VA for the light kit in the extraction 

arm, a timer for delay of fan stop variable 0-5 minutes, and two separate 

connections for sensor clamps.

Motor Damper 

Reduces energy costs and increases efficiency. Provides optimum airflow 

within a multi-arm system, with the possibility of using a smaller fan and 

automatic start/stop. The motorised damper is available in two models. 

Manual, using a hood mounted switch set, or automatic, using a sensor 

clamp for welding. The closing can be delayed. Single phase power 

supply of the Operation Box, 110/120-220/240V, 50/60Hz. Full technical 

details available upon request. The Motor Damper Automatic has a sensor 

clamp to be attached on the ground cable of the welding set for automatic 

start of the fan and automatic control of the damper. The Operation Box 

consists of a transformer 30VA for the light kit in the extraction arm, a 

timer for delay of fan stop variable 0-5 minutes, two separate connections 

for sensor clamps.

Down Flow Grille FD 23 

An extraction device designed to be integrated directly in the bench top 

surface. It is highly effective in capturing the heavy fumes from gluing, 

solvents and similar. Typical workplaces are schools, laboratories, electronic

Dust Extraction Kits for sanders 

The fixed aluminium manifold is available in many models to fit different 

tools. A durable polyurethane hood snaps into the fixed manifold. The 

hood is available with or without brush for Ø 125, 150 and 180 mm. (5” 

- 6” - 7”).

Hose Couplers 

The hose coupler system is available in a wide range to suit most hose 

diameters commonly used. The couplers are made from electrically conductive 

plastic material, and are available in two diameters of the tapered 

coupler section 40 and 50 mm. 

The male 50 series fits directly to the KV flap valve and the automatic 

TAV valve. To connect the 40 series to either the 50 series or to the above 

mentioned valves an adapter is used. Using the couplers makes it very 

easy to connect / disconnect the vacuum hose simply by turning pushing 

or turning pulling.

Single/Twin Exhaust Extractor 

Single Exhaust Extractor is a reliable and functional solution for all types 

of stationary vehicles. Available with balancer or a cord for manual hose 

suspension. The balancer automatically raises the hose and nozzle after 

disconnection, and keeps them lifted at all times. Models for high temperature 

application are available. Very easy to install, using the included 

bracket. Prepared for fan mounting on bracket. Twin Exhaust Extractor 

removes exhaust fumes from two vehicles at the same time, or from 

vehicles with twin exhaust pipes. Very easy to install, using the included

Exhaust Hose Reel 865 

Spring recoiled 

For all types of vehicle workshops, etc. where the hose can hang at a 

reachable height. Separate mounting brackets enable a simple and safe 

installation. The patented spring drive makes the reel very easy to handle. 

For best economy, an automatic fan on/off switch is available. Optional 

retraction control is available for increased safety and efficiency. Mounting 

of fan on reel is possible. The spring recoiled hose reel can be upgraded 

to motor drive. Maximum lifting capacity: 27 kg. 

Two types of reels are available: - With hose NR-B (see “Exhaust Hoses”) 

- With hose NR-CP (see “Exhaust Hoses”), and patented, integrated automatic 

damper, which saves energy and reduces the noise level.

Exhaust Hose Reel 865 

Electric motor driven 

The best solution in workshops with a high ceiling, where overhead cranes 

etc. have to be considered, or where high vehicles must pass. Operated 

via a hand unit either an IR control or pendant control. A receiving eye on 

the reel shows the status of operation. Electronic limit switches reduce the 

risk of malfunction and unnecessary wearing of the hose. Fan start/stop is 

automatically controlled. Mounting of fan on reel is possible.

Exhaust Rail System 920 

Easy to handle systems for all types of workshops. Unique design of rail 

and trolley gives very high extraction efficiency. Extraction units are 

available with balancer for keeping the hose raised, and damper for automatic 

airflow control. Using click on brackets for rail means easy installation. 

Extraction units are easy to move, thanks to lightweight material 

and ball bearing wheels. One extraction unit can serve several workbays.

Balancer 

The balancer supports the exhaust hose and keeps the hose and nozzle 

lifted at all times. The reversed spring power makes handling the hose 

very easy and safe, offering an even pulling force and lifting power. An integrated 

centrifugal brake prevents the hose from being lifted too quickly, 

which minimises the risk of personal injury and damage to vehicles. Hoist

Emission test kit 

This kit is a well proven solution for emission tests on both cars and 

trucks. Based on Single Exhaust Extractor, the emission test kit has a capacity 

to handle large volumes of high temperature exhaust. The specially 

designed funnel can be angled vertically, and is adjustable in height as

Trackarm 

Wall mounted Trackarm is designed for heavy stationary vehicles and 

equipment. It is a solution for premises where crane bridges, height 

of ceiling, etc. make ceiling mounting of other systems difficult. The 

horizontal hose is compressible, and fixed to a 180° pivoting arm. The balancer 

keeps the hose lifted and stretched at all times. This makes Trackarm 

very flexible to use and easy to operate.

Curtains 

Standard sized curtains (see below) provided with 50 mm welded seam 

all around and with snap-fasteners on both sides for joining to obtain total 

desired width. Supplied with reinforced holes in the upper edge and steel 

suspension rings. All standard curtains are made of pliable self extinguishing 

PVC-material with flash point 320-390ºC. Width: 1400 mm, Thickness: 

0.40-0.50 mm. The Nederman yellow and clear transparent curtains 

are used for glare, splatter, grinding, dust etc. but are not aimed for welding. 

Otherwise same features as the above standard curtains.

The protection curtain screens are easily removable for welding, grinding, 

turning, milling etc, and are ideal for the screening of temporary or 

permanent work places. The frame is manufactured from galvanised tube 

and the curtain of self-extinguishing PVC material in same colours as

Curtain Strips 

The Nederman curtain strips are used instead of full curtains when the 

mechanical load from passing through is heavy and regular and also when 

protection is required because of draught, moisture, oilmist, cold etc. The 

strips are made of PVC material, 2 or 3mm thick and 300mm wide, which 

can be mounted with 50 or 100 mm (33% or 66%) overlap. When requested 

height is above 2.8m the 3mm thick strips are recommended as well as 

100 mm (66%) overlap. Also when the passage is used by fork lift trucks 

the 3mm strips are recommended. The strips are as standard delivered in 5 

pack of 1.8m cut length or as 50m roll, to be cut on site.
