COLLEGE ORIENTATION
Catawba officials want to do everything they can to
help new students succeed, and that means more than
making good grades. It means adjusting well. It means
learning to live
and work with
others in an environment
that is
new.
To ease the transition
to college
life, Catawba offers
an orientation session
before the
opening of the fall
term for all firsttime
freshmen and
transfer students.
One of the primary
strengths of the program
is that students
have contact with an
advisor from the first
day they arrive on
campus. And that relationship
continues in
small, twice-weekly
classes during the entire first semester.
SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE
The South Atlantic Conference is a group of
ten church-related colleges of similar size and
athletic philosophy. As an all-sports conference,
the league has grown into one of the
premier small-college athletic conferences in
the nation.
The 1993-94 year was extremely special in that the conference
became fully affiliated with the NCAA Division II
and is now eligible for national championships opportunities
in all of its 14 sponsored sports.
NCAA DIVISION II
The National Collegiate Athletic
Association is the organization through which
the nation’s colleges and universities speak
and act on athletic matters at the national level.
It is a voluntary association of more than 1,000
institutions, conferences, organizations and individuals
devoted to the sound administration of intercollegiate
athletics.
