6.5 CD Distribution and Live Per<strong>for</strong>mances<br />

1. The Smithsonian Institution National Air and Space Museum has included in<strong>for</strong>mation<br />

about the Entomopter-based Mars Surveyor in its Interactive Multimedia CD-ROM entitled,<br />

“Solar System Explorer.” This CD contains the Mars Entomopter video as well as<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation <strong>for</strong> travel, education, virtual tours and exhibits, music, and multi-level<br />

games and activities in more than 1,000 photos, two hours of narration, more than 40<br />

videos and animations, an Interactive map of the Mall featuring all Smithsonian museums,<br />

and a separate music-only section with the entire score of Gustav Holst's “The<br />

Planets.” The in<strong>for</strong>mation on the CD is updatable via the Internet and expandable. The<br />

Entomopter-based Mars surveyor is described along with the video of the future NASA<br />

exploration mission. This CD is released and distributed through Smithsonian Institution<br />

channels. It is anticipated that the Smithsonian Institution will install kiosks within the<br />

Air and Space Museum <strong>for</strong> real-time use by patrons.<br />
