SC 10
General
The detector SC 10 is based on the Pulse Induction system
which was invented by the electronic engineer C. Colani,
Munich in the beginning of the sixties. EBINGER became the
first manufacturer of so-called PI detectors in Germany after
it had purchased the Colani patents in early 1970. The type SC
10 is an EBINGER design that is produced and exclusively sold
by SECON GmbH as licensee.
Use
Das SC 10 ist ein empfindlicher Metalldetektor, der für
vielfältige Suchaufgaben eingesetzt werden kann. Es
erfasst alle Metalle, auch relativ kleine Teile aus Buntund
Edelmetallen. Der Vorteil des Gerätes besteht
nicht nur in seinem robusten Aufbau, seiner hohen
Nachweisempfindlichkeit, sondern auch in seiner einfachen
Handhabung. Bedingt durch das Verfahren bewirkt die
Nähe von Salzwasser keine Störeffekte. Für die Suche im
Flachwasser ist die Suchspule wasserdicht ausgeführt.
Mode of operation
The search head transmits short magnetic pulses that induce
eddy currents into the metal objects to be detected. This eddy
current effect leads to a magnetic response which is picked
up by the search head as a secondary field and converted into
an audio signal in the detector electronics.
Detection sensitivity
We refer to the EBINGER brochure “Active Detection Technique
Detection Range Indications for Metal Detectors”! Examples of
detection ranges in air with the standard search head 230 mm Ø,
sampling time 15 s (step III), static search mode:
