ANNUAL
12-14 NOVEMBER 2013
CTICC CAPE TOWN
SOUTH AFRICA
DIGITAL AFRICA IS POISED TO
EXPLODE – ENSURE YOU ARE
RIDING THE CREST OF THE WAVE…
Africa is at the verge of a data boom: consumers
and enterprises are hungry for content and services
beyond voice. What does it mean for the many
stakeholders in the market?
Telecoms operators are still investing heavily in their networks but are at
risk of no longer being the dominant players in the market. Meanwhile new
players (OTT, content providers, app developers) are gaining audiences but
not always generating the necessary revenues. How can all players ensure
profitability in this changing environment?
AfricaCom 2013 offers 3 days of strategic keynotes, specialist events,
workshops and networking to discuss and plan for the new challenges
in Africa’s digital market. Over 300 speakers will present the innovation,
strategic leadership and technological advances in Africa’s market, while
local and global companies will showcase products, equipment and solutions
to make it all happen in the expanded exhibition.
Take a look at the many features in this year’s event, including the new
sessions: a 3-day LTE focus, an expanded Mobile Money programme
now over 2 days, new one-day events (Digital Music, Cloud, Big Data)
and extended programmes at the co-located AfricaCast (with a new day
on multiplatform TV) and AfricApps (including mobile marketing). Do not
forget the AfricaCom Awards celebrating the top achievements in Africa’s
digital market.
AfricaCom is the place to meet partners, to learn about new
developments and to prepare your business for the year(s) ahead.
Plan your visit now to make the most of it!
11TH
NOVEMBER
In the first and only event in Africa dedicated to Big Data and
co-located with the region’s leading AFRICAcom ICT
exhibition, Big Data Africa Congress is the platform to present
your “how-to” strategies for dealing with and profiting from the
rise of ‘infinite’ big data.
Big Data Africa Congress will help you harness the power of
data analytics, providing you with a practical guide to deriving
value from the data opportunity specific to Africa’s emerging
markets.
The two sessions gather over 20 leading speakers that
highlight the latest trends and technologies related to the rise
of big data and the mobile employee in their organisations.
Dedicated sections explore the potential of telco Big Data and
telco BYOx, from providing business analytics and Customer
intelligence programmes to MDM.
“Data, data and more data” is what you hear when asking what
mobile operators are focusing on in Africa. As consumer demand
grows and services are booming, operators are busy upgrading
their networks to meet the new needs and increase revenues
from mobile broadband.
LTE @AfricaCom is a new event dedicated to planning for and
deploying LTE networks successfully. Over three days, the
programme will include keynote presentations, interactive panel
discussions, in-depth training and masterclass sessions covering
all aspects of LTE strategies.
Learn from the first movers in Africa’s mobile broadband and from
the technology companies delivering on the LTE opportunity.
WIMAX OPERATORS’ SUMMIT Hosted by
In 2012, the WiMAX Forum hosted its second WiMAX Africa
Summit at AfricaCom. The event drew more than 100 attendees,
including representatives from 32 WiMAX operators, to discuss
the opportunity for WiMAX in Africa.
Attendees were treated to a full program including speakers from
WiMAX operators, equipment and solutions vendors, members
of the African investment community and WiMAX Forum staff.
WiMAX Africa 2013 will again bring together the region’s WiMAX
community to meet, exchange ideas, and develop business and
cooperative relationships.
The event will highlight the opportunities, challenges, and strategies
involved in operating a profitable WiMAX network in Africa.
