pleasures. Settling into the glove-soft leather, surrounded<br />
by the stylish curved sweep of the warm wood veneer,<br />
the luxurious interior has been fashioned to delight<br />
the senses. Classic materials are combined with modern<br />
styling to create a contemporary elegance, from the<br />
interior surfaces wrapped in leather to the jet-engine<br />
inspired air vents and the minimalist controls detailed<br />
in glinting chrome.<br />
Even before the wheels are in motion, simply starting the<br />
<strong>XJ</strong> is a moving experience. The soft light behind the start<br />
button pulses invitingly. Lightly press it and the flush<br />
aluminum <strong>Jaguar</strong>Drive Selector TM rises up out of the centre<br />
console as the dashboard bathes the cabin with a cool<br />
phosphor blue. The virtual instrument panel emerges<br />
behind the steering wheel, and the distant sound of<br />
