Well, this is the conslusion of quite a bit of Mark's personalhistory, and I am grateful to him
in providing it for use in thesegenealogical stories.
Sometime in the 1995 - 1997 ear (I really forget when), Mark receivedrecognition in being
nominated for Navy Chaplain of the Year(nominated from 12 chaplains in claimancy, one of
12 nominees fromabout 1,000 Navy chaplains). Well, I think you can see that we canfeel
proud and blessed to have a family member recognized for suchgood work in an
organization as important as the United States NavyChaplaincy.
Mark's description of his work toward the end of his career: "I was aStaff Chaplain there
(US Coast Guard Academy), and also the ProtestantPastor of the U.S. Coast Guard
Memorial Chapel. That assignment wasfrom January 2004 through September 2005.
Since October 2005, I havebeen a Staff Chaplain and Special Projects Officer at the
NavalChaplains School, Newport, Rhode Island."
Notes for Ginger Lou Jones:
General Notes:
Ginger was a Florida girl. While in her 30's, she was theadministrative assistant for Bill
Gothard, a man who headed up aChristian teaching ministry through a series of seminars,
typically inlarge auditoriums or sports stadiums. It was known as "Basic YouthConflicts,"
and thousands of people would attend at a time, meeting inlarge convention centers and
stadiums. She was doing this work whenshe and Mark met.
Ginger is an endless resource for creativity, and her small staturedid not reflect the strength
and stamina she had in being a marvelouswife and mother. She particularly excelled by
home schooling theirchildren. She has been an endless source of reference for my
owndaughter, Tiffany, the mother of four children whom she also is homeschooling.
Mark Andrew Jumper and Ginger Lou Jones were married on 23 Nov 1991 in Clayton, Saint
