"On August 24, Delaware was awarded to William Penn by James, Duke ofYork, who had
no legal title to the land. This made Penn's controlover Delaware tenuous, particularly since
it conflicted with otherclaims. The issue was finally resolved by the Charter of 1701,
whichgave Delaware autonomy. "

General Notes:
Nathaniel was the first pastor of the First Separatist Church, whichwas from 1699 to 1724.
His civilian contribution was service as theTown Clerk from 1729-1735.
Nathaniel Collins and Alice Adams were married on 17 Jan 1701.They had the following
children:
i. Mary Collins was born on 15 Nov 1701. She died on 17 Feb 1702.
124. ii. Ann Collins[9] was born on 30 Dec 1702 in Enfield, Hartford, Connecticut[9].
She married Ephraim Terry on 13 Sep 1723[9]. She died on 10 Sep 1778 in
Enfield, Hartford, Connecticut.
iii. John Collins was born on 07 Nov 1704. He died after 07 Nov 1704.
iv. Alice Collins was born on 19 Feb 1706. She died on 25 Aug 1709.

It's interesting to note that the family "replaced" this young 3 yearold child
who died as a toddler with another daughter by the same namea few years
later.

vi. William Collins was born on 24 Jun 1711.
vii. Edward Collins was born on 16 Nov 1713.
viii. Alice Collins was born on 14 Mar 1716.
156. Ebenezer Steele-3 (Meletiah-2, William-1) was born on 13 Aug 1695. He died about 1745.
Susannah Merrill was born on 18 Aug 1700.
