“V1133 TRANSACTION PROCESSED, 2-MONTH REG RENEWAL<br />
ALLOWED, FUTURE EXP “mmyy”: Where “mmyy”will be the month and<br />
year expiration <strong>of</strong> the registration period (such as “0309” for a March, 2009<br />
expiration)<br />
The Multi-Use tags issued when metal plates are not available, will continue to be 60-day<br />
tags. They do not need to have the same expiration date as the metal tag registration<br />
(which is how it is now handled, except when SR22/FR44 processing is required, the<br />
metal plate registration will be two-months instead <strong>of</strong> one or two years when SR22/FR44<br />
processing is not required).<br />
3.1.2 Titling a New Manufactured Home<br />
PURCHASER<br />
a. The purchaser <strong>of</strong> a new manufactured home completes and signs VSA-17B –<br />
“Application for Certificate <strong>of</strong> Title - Manufactured Home”<br />
b. If the manufactured home will be situated within the town limits <strong>of</strong> an<br />
incorporated town, you must provide the town name.<br />
c. If the manufactured home will be located outside any city or town limits, you<br />
must provide the county name.<br />
DEALER<br />
The dealer calculates and collects the <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> Housing and Community<br />
Development (DHCD) fee and the title fee, and amount <strong>of</strong> SUT due (using sale price and<br />
dealer processing fee if applicable), (see Chapter 4 for Information on fee calculation)<br />
and submits to DMV:<br />
a. form VSA-17B “Application for Certificate <strong>of</strong> Title - Manufactured Home”<br />
b. Manufacturer’s Statement/Certificate <strong>of</strong> Origin (MSO/MCO) for the vehicle.<br />
c. appropriate fees.<br />
d. Odometer Disclosure Statement (VSA-5) if not disclosed on the MSO/MCO.<br />
3.2 DLR 300-TITLING A USED VEHICLE<br />
3.2.1 Possession <strong>of</strong> Valid Title Required for Sale <strong>of</strong> Any Used Vehicle in <strong>Virginia</strong><br />
a. Any person (or dealer) who sells or trades a used vehicle in <strong>Virginia</strong> must obtain a<br />
valid title for the vehicle. This includes Salvage <strong>Dealer</strong>s, Salvage Pools,<br />
Demolishers, Rebuilders, and Vehicle Removal Operators.<br />
b. If the vehicle is titled in <strong>Virginia</strong> and the Certificate <strong>of</strong> Title has been lost or<br />
destroyed, the owner must obtain a duplicate <strong>Virginia</strong> title from DMV before the<br />
sale can be completed.<br />
c. If the vehicle is titled in another state and the owner was issued a title document,<br />
which has since been lost or destroyed, then the vehicle owner must obtain a<br />
