1.3.2 Adding a Partner<br />
Submit to DMV/MVDB a completed DSD-10, “Application for a <strong>Motor</strong> Vehicle <strong>Dealer</strong> License, Initial<br />
License or Renewal” and the pro-rated certificate fee.<br />
1.3.3 Dropping a Partner<br />
If you drop a partner from your dealership you must submit to DMV/MVDB a completed DSD-10,<br />
“Application for a <strong>Motor</strong> Vehicle <strong>Dealer</strong> License, Initial License or Renewal”.<br />
1.3.4 Changing the Ownership Status <strong>of</strong> Your Business<br />
Ownership <strong>of</strong> a business by individual or partnership is considered one type <strong>of</strong> ownership status, while<br />
ownership by a corporation is considered another type <strong>of</strong> ownership status. If you change from one<br />
ownership status to another, you must turn in your current <strong>Dealer</strong> License Certificate and all your dealer<br />
license plates and obtain new <strong>Dealer</strong> License Certificate and new dealer plates.<br />
If there is a change in ownership you must submit to DMV:<br />
a. form DSD-10 “Application for a <strong>Motor</strong> Vehicle <strong>Dealer</strong> License, Initial License or Renewal”<br />
requesting a new dealer license certificate, along with the required fees<br />
b. assessment fee for the <strong>Motor</strong> Vehicle Transaction Recovery Fund<br />
c. If you are franchised dealer, a copy <strong>of</strong> your franchise agreement or a letter from the manufacturer<br />
authorizing sale <strong>of</strong> the motor vehicles and a copy <strong>of</strong> the current service agreement for each linemake<br />
<strong>of</strong> vehicle(s) you sell.<br />
d. form DSD-7 “Application for Certificate <strong>of</strong> Qualification/Salesperson's License” for each licensed<br />
salesperson along with the appropriate fees All current salespersons licenses must be returned.<br />
e. if you desire dealer plates:<br />
Form DSD-9, “Application for <strong>Dealer</strong>/Drive-Away/Office Trailers Plates” requesting issuance <strong>of</strong><br />
dealer plates, along with the required fee. (See procedure DLR 100 for maximum number <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>Dealer</strong> plates issued).<br />
1.3.5 Changes in the Operation <strong>of</strong> Your <strong>Dealer</strong>ship<br />
1.3.5.1 Changing the “Trading As” Name <strong>of</strong> Your Business<br />
If you change the trade name under which you conduct business, you should submit to DMV/MVDB a<br />
completed DSD-10, “Application for a <strong>Motor</strong> Vehicle <strong>Dealer</strong> License, Initial License or Renewal” (No<br />
fee is required).<br />
1.3.5.2 Changing the Type <strong>of</strong> License<br />
You may maintain one or more <strong>of</strong> the following types <strong>of</strong> dealerships:<br />
a. Franchised motor vehicle, motorcycle, T&M, or trailer<br />
b. Independent motor vehicle, motorcycle, T&M, or trailer<br />
c. Distributor<br />
d. Manufacturer<br />
e. Salvage, rebuilder, demolisher, salvage pool, or vehicle removal operator<br />
