Chapter 6
Synthesis of benzodiazepines
The newly synthesized compounds ADZ-04a-j were conformed on the basis
of their elemental analysis and spectral data (MS, IR, 1 H NMR and 13 C NMR). The
structure of ADZ-04a was supported by its mass (m/z 268) which agree with its
molecular formula C 16 H 13 FN 2 O, its 1 H NMR spectrums held a singlet at δ =3.42 ppm
assigned to -CH 3 , two doublet signals observed at δ =3.75-3.78 (1H, J=10.5Hz) and
4.78-4.81 (1H, J=10.5Hz) assigned to –CH 2 group, and four multiplet signal observed
at δ =7.05-7.65 assigned to the aromatic protons.
All synthesized compounds ADZ-05a-j were conformed on the basis of their
elemental analysis and spectral data (MS, IR, 1 H NMR and 13 C NMR).The analytical
data for ADZ-05a revealed a molecular formula C 22 H 15 FN 2 O(m/z 342). Its 1 H NMR
signals held at δ = 6.39 (s. 1H, CH), 7.08-7.12 (m, 1H, Ar), 7.21-7.37 (m, 7H, Ar),
7.46-7.53 (m, 3H, Ar), 7.76-7.79 (m, 2H, Ar), 8.15 (s, 1H, -CONH).
