once again has done an excellent job.
Please note the changes to the front
cover. It is the Official Publication
of the Tennessee Turfgrass Association,
the Tennessee Valley Sports
Turf Managers Association (TVS
TMA) and the Tennessee Golf
Course Superintendents Association
(TGCSA). In this issue, you will
find the membership roster of both
the TTA and the TVSTMA. We will
include the TGCSA in our next
membership directory.
A list of vendors is also included,
along with many of their advertisements
that support the TTA and
this magazine throughout the year.
This issue is jam-packed with
names, phone numbers, event dates
and even a copy of the bylaws. If we
can make our magazine better,
please let us know how. If you
would like to write an article of
interest, please let us know.
We, the board of directors and
scholarship committee, need your
help. We have scholarship funds
available, but no applicants to
receive them. This summer, while
you are visiting family and friends,
will be an excellent time to pass the
word around. In this issue, you will
find an application for the Ernest
Hardison Memorial Scholarship.

This is a note to all board and
committee members. Due to the
high cost of travel, we may set up a
conference call for our summer
meeting and not travel to Nashville. I
know this is a board matter, but I
wanted the membership to know that
we will always do our best to keep the
cost of all meetings to a minimum.
Make sure you set your calendars
for January 11–13, 2009, for next
year's annual TTA Conference and
Trade Show to see the changes.
Jeremiah 17:8 encourages each
of us to be like a tree planted by the
waters. So I encourage each of us to
be tree planters. However, Kenny
Perry may disagree.
In closing, we should encourage
everyone involved in our industry to
get on board and become part of
TTA. We have something great to
offer. We offer to our members a
means to become better individuals,
more professional and highly
educated in the turfgrass industry.
This year, we are going to invite
everyone in the turfgrass industry to
travel our road. Please help us get
the word out. I promise that the
board of directors will do our part.
