HPM Technologie GmbH Maintenance Instructions for PTR Spray Heads Spray Heads PTR Assembly: Adjusting the spray jet: Spray air pressure: Adjusting the nozzle: • Assembly of spray head either with the mounting or with fixation borings. Do not bore any more holes in the spray head! • Enclosed check valve is mounted upright on the distributor. Connect spray head securely with air and fluid tubings and the valve and container module. • Assembly of PA tubings in short dimensions and if possible in upward direction. • Not tight connections disturb or prevent from spraying! • The spray jet depends on 2 factors: Spray air pressure and adjustment of the nozzle. • Adjust to 0.5 – 1.5 bar via the fine pressure regulator of the valve module. The higher the spray air pressure the higher is the development of spray mist. • In our works the spray head is adjusted to an average value. www.hpmtechnologie.de Status: 04/2008 Page – 1 –

Assembly:
Adjusting the spray jet:
Spray air pressure:
Adjusting the nozzle:
• Assembly of spray head either with the mounting or with fixation
borings.
Do not bore any more holes in the spray head!
• Enclosed check valve is
mounted upright on the
distributor. Connect spray
head securely with air and
fluid tubings and the valve
and container module.
• Assembly of PA tubings in
short dimensions and if
possible in upward direction.
• Not tight connections disturb
or prevent from spraying!
• The spray jet depends on 2 factors: Spray air pressure and
adjustment of the nozzle.
• Adjust to 0.5 – 1.5 bar via the fine pressure regulator of the valve
module. The higher the spray air pressure the higher is the
development of spray mist.
• In our works the spray head is adjusted to an average value.
Adjusting the spray jet:
Maintenance:
• To adjust the spray jet loosen counternut SW13 (1), and close
nozzle carefully. The air jet remains unchanged. Adjust the desired
quantity by opening the nozzle adjusting nut (2) slowly. After
approx. 2 rotations the largest possible flow quantity is achieved.
Then lock nozzle adjusting nut with counternut (1).
2
Important for all maintenance procedures:
• Replace damaged parts!
• Don’ t use pliers. All relevant parts can be loosened with
suitable tools or by hand!
Maintenance plan: Interval:
Control of spray jet weekly
Checking all connections for tightness
and damage
weekly
Empty air-pressure filter Monthly
If air bubbles occur in the fluid tubings, check tightness and tube bends.
Increase air pressure and open the nozzle completely (approx. 2 rotations of the
nozzle adjusting nut). If the air bubble disappeared, re-adjust the spray head.
Cleaning:
Duration of the spray head’s life can be enlargened considerably
by regular cleaning.
Depending on the spray fluid, it is sufficient to flush spray head using a suitable
cleaning agent. Ask your fluid supplier for an appropriate cleaning agent for your
fluid.
If very dirty:
Removal:
• Remove outer and inner nozzle and carefully wash parts in cleaning
agent. Then re-assemble and adjust outer and inner nozzle
accordingly.
Tools required:
- flat wrench SW12
- flat wrench SW13
- small screw driver max. 5x1
1. Loosen counternut SW13
2. Unscrew nozzle adjusting nut.
Remove outer nozzle and spring.
3. Remove air tubing SW12
Assembly:
1. Insert air nozzle into nozzle body
until stop.
2. Screw spring and outer nozzle with
nozzle adjusting nut and handtighten
them carefully.
3. Slide O-ring in air connection and
adjust to nozzle pipe.
4. Tighten screw plug.
5. Assemble spray head and re-adjust
