3.2.3 Owl Call Playback
One target owl species, namely the Powerful Owl responded to the call playback of its
own call. The Powerful Owl is listed as Vulnerable under the NSW Threatened Species
Conservation Act 1995 (TSC Act). No other target species responded to their calls,
however, a Southern Boobook Owl (Ninox novaeseelandiae) was recorded during
spotlighting surveys. Three other non-threatened nocturnal birds, the Tawny Frogmouth
