the exercise. Roadblocks will be manned at all times and non-exercise<br />

traffic will be permitted to pass through road-blocks at all times, unless<br />

coordinated with LONGRIFLE. Obstacle plans shall be submitted to the Range<br />

Scheduling Office at least fifteen (15) working days prior to planned<br />

training<br />

5. Roblar Road<br />

a. Safe transit of Roblar Road requires a thorough ORM, and compliance<br />

with all road sign instructions and speed limits.<br />

b. Access. Unscheduled vehicular traffic transiting along Roblar Road<br />

adjacent to Range 409A has a negative impact on Range 409A training evolutions<br />

due to check fires to allow passage of vehicles. In order to reduce<br />

Range 409A down time, the following Roblar Road access schedule for transiting<br />

through Range 409A are in effect.<br />

0001 - 1000 Open for transit<br />

1000 - 1800<br />

Closed to all through traffic except emergency vehicles<br />

(Real time coordination with LONGRIFLE is required)<br />

1800 - 1900 Open for transit<br />

1900 - 2359 Closed to all through traffic except emergency vehicles<br />

(Real time coordination with LONGRIFLE is required)<br />

c. Hiking on Roblar Road<br />

(1) Units should follow all scheduling, communication, and safety<br />

procedures required for all other hikes; but when on the paved portion<br />

of Roblar Road the rules listed below shall apply.<br />

(2) Daylight<br />

(a) The unit shall have at least one lead and one trail vehicle.<br />

The uphill vehicle must be at least 100 meters from the nearest <strong>Marine</strong> on<br />

foot and the down hill vehicle must be at least fifty (50) meters. These<br />

vehicles will stop ALL traffic before traffic reaches the column.<br />

(b) In addition to communication with LONGRIFLE, communications<br />

must be established and maintained between <strong>bo</strong>th road guard vehicles and the<br />

column.<br />

(c) Vehicle traffic movement through the column will be allowed<br />

only after communication and coordination is made between the vehicle driver<br />

and the OIC or SNCOIC of the unit on foot.<br />
