b. DURING A MEDEVAC, ALL UNITS ON BASE RANGE CONTROL SAFETY NETS SHALL<br />
CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE NETS, BUT SHALL NOT TRANSMIT UNLESS THEY REQUIRE<br />
ADDITIONAL MEDEVAC SUPPORT.<br />
c. Unless deemed otherwise by competent authority, names and full social<br />
security numbers of injured personnel should not be relayed over the radio.<br />
Range inspectors may be used to relay or gather sensitive accident and/or<br />
medical information.<br />
1010. FIRE DANGER RATING (FDR)<br />
1. General. FDRs and associated control measures are promulgated to reduce<br />
the danger from wildland fires. FDRs are applicable to all organizations and<br />
individuals at <strong>Camp</strong> <strong>Pendleton</strong> at all times.<br />
2. FDRs. FDRs are defined in figure 1-4 of this Order.<br />
3. Dissemination<br />
a. The FDRs are determined and disseminated by the <strong>Base</strong> Fire Department.<br />
They are also available on the Range Operations Division Share-Point intranet<br />
site.<br />
b. When the FDR changes, a notice reinforcing the FDR will be sent by<br />
the Range Operations Division (AC/S, O&T) to all units at <strong>Camp</strong> <strong>Pendleton</strong>.<br />
4. Action<br />
a. RSOs shall allow firing or training to commence only after<br />
ascertaining the FDR in effect and adopting the appropriate fire prevention<br />
measures.<br />
b. LONGRIFLE shall notify RSOs of FDR changes as they occur.<br />
c. In the event of a wildland fire on any range, impact, or training<br />
area, the RSOs will immediately ensure that no personnel are in danger and<br />
then notify LONGRIFLE by the most expeditious means possible stating the<br />
exact location and extent of the fire and its proximity to any personnel,<br />
equipment or property (to include targetry/equipment/signage) that may be in<br />
danger. LONGRIFLE will then instruct the RSOs as to what action to take<br />
prior to the arrival of the <strong>Base</strong> Fire Department. The RSO shall follow the<br />
directions of LONGRIFLE and or the <strong>Base</strong> Fire Department to ensure the safety<br />
of personnel and equipment. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL ANYONE ENTER AN<br />
IMPACT AREA TO FIGHT FIRES.<br />
d. The RCO will monitor all range and training area fires as they occur,<br />
and is authorized to assist the <strong>Base</strong> Fire Chief to safeguard government<br />
property and personnel. This will include the control of firing and the<br />
removal of units from training areas threatened by fire. Maximum effort will<br />
be made not to interfere with scheduled training, however, safety considerations<br />
shall take precedence.<br />
e. Fires will not be started on any range or in any training area except<br />
when authorized by the AC/S, O&T. Cutting of trees and brush for such fires<br />
is prohibited per paragraph 2001.1 in Chapter 2 of this Order. Fires will be<br />
carefully extinguished prior to leaving the area. FIRE WILL NOT BE PERMITTED<br />
WHEN the FDR is VERY HIGH or EXTREME.<br />
