1494. The Stanišić Defence further submits that the plans for this anti-terrorist unit were<br />

shelved in early March 1992. 2861 However, the Stanišić Defence has not cited to clear<br />

evidentiary support for this submission. The Trial Chamber has reviewed evidence that the<br />

Unit continued to exist and operate outside the Republic of Serbia in the period immediately<br />

after early March 1992, which it will review in relation to the Brčko and Doboj camps below.<br />

Tikveš camp, August 1991 to mid-1992<br />

1495. The Trial Chamber now turns to the Tikveš camp. The Trial Chamber will consider<br />

whether the Accused directed the involvement of the Unit in particular operations in and<br />

around Tikveš. 2862 The Trial Chamber will further consider whether the Accused organized,<br />

supplied, financed, and supported the Unit’s involvement in those particular operations. 2863<br />

The Trial Chamber will also review whether the Accused directed and organized the<br />

financing, training, logistical support, and other substantial assistance or support for the Unit<br />

at Tikveš. 2864 Finally, the Trial Chamber will consider whether the Accused directed and<br />

organized the training of other groups at Tikveš.<br />

1496. In its Final Trial Brief, the Prosecution submits that around early August 1991, the Red<br />

Berets, including Captain Dragan, set up a training camp in Tikveš in one of Tito’s Castles in<br />

the SAO SBWS, run by Vasilje Mijović (Vaso) who coordinated with Serbian MUP DB<br />

member Kostić. 2865 The Tikveš camp issued supplies to the Ilok camp. 2866<br />

1497. The Trial Chamber has received evidence from Witness JF-036, Witness C-015, and<br />

Witness JF-031 as well as through several documents regarding a camp at Tikveš. Witness<br />

JF-036, a Serb and DB official in the SAO SBWS, 2867 testified that at the end of July or<br />

beginning of August 1991, Captain Dragan took over Tito’s Castle in Tikveš and established a<br />

training camp for his unit there. 2868 In mid-October 1991, the Serbian TO from Vojvodina set<br />

up its headquarters at Tito’s Castle and remained there for approximately two months. 2869<br />

1498. In January or February 1992, the witness realised that members of a special unit were<br />

operating in Baranja. The witness learned that this unit was stationed at Tito’s castle after they<br />
