commission of crimes, and that they continued to cooperate closely with them. 4979 Therefore,<br />

the Trial Chamber will consider Stanišić’s acts with regard to the Serb Forces as well as<br />

whether the Serb Forces committed crimes which are part of the objective of the alleged joint<br />

criminal enterprise. The inference must be the only reasonable inference available on the<br />

evidence. 4980 The Trial Chamber will consider in turn, Stanišić’s actions in relation to: the<br />

Unit, the SAO Krajina Police, the SDG, and the Skorpions.<br />

2318. In relation to the Unit, the Trial Chamber recalls that the Accused directed and<br />

organized its formation; organized its involvement in a number of operations in Croatia and<br />

Bosnia-Herzegovina; and directed and organized its financing, logistical support, and other<br />

substantial assistance or support, throughout the Indictment period. 4981 From at least<br />

September 1991, the Accused were in command of the Unit and controlled its deployment and<br />

training activities through leading Unit members, such as Ivanović, who acted on behalf of the<br />

Accused and were immediately subordinate to them. 4982<br />

2319. The Trial Chamber will first consider Stanišić’s actions in relation to the Unit’s<br />

involvement in particular operations, before addressing the Unit’s training activities.<br />

2320. The Trial Chamber recalls its findings that Unit members committed the crimes of<br />

murder, deportation, forcible transfer, and persecution during two of the Unit’s operations.<br />

Specifically, members of the Unit committed murder, deportation, forcible transfer, and<br />

persecution in Bosanski Šamac municipality and deportation, forcible transfer, and<br />

persecution in Doboj municipality in early 1992. 4983<br />

2321. The Trial Chamber further recalls that the Accused organized the involvement of the<br />

Unit in the Bosanski Šamac and Doboj operations in 1992. 4984 Specifically, with regard to<br />

Bosanski Šamac, the Trial Chamber recalls that in late March or early April 1992, Simatović<br />

held a meeting at the Pajzoš training camp and announced that the Unit would be deployed to<br />

Bosanski Šamac. He stated that the Unit’s objective was to secure Bosanski Šamac and the<br />

surrounding Serb villages. The evidence does not provide further details as to the manner in<br />
