2168. Furthermore, the Trial Chamber has reviewed two letters to the Serbian MUP from<br />

August 1992 and March 1995. On 3 August 1992, Martić wrote to R. Stojčić, head of<br />

department of the Serbian MUP, requesting two teachers, one on Law, one on Criminology,<br />

for the next course for police officer trainees. 4584 On 22 March 1995, RSK MUP Minister<br />

Nebojša Pavković wrote to Serbian MUP Deputy Minister Radomir Stojičić. 4585 Pavković<br />

noted that the Sabotage Squad of the RSK MUP Special Brigade was finishing a one-month<br />

course with Stojičić’s anti-terrorist units and requested that Stojičić continue the training of<br />

two members. 4586<br />

2169. The Trial Chamber will now consider the arming of the SAO Krajina Police and TO<br />

members. Vatroslav Stanićić, Chief of the counter-intelligence sector of the federal MUP<br />

SDB in 1991, 4587 testified that when he left Knin on <strong>30</strong> June or 1 July 1991, Martić’s units<br />

were poorly trained and equipped, with only side arms and long-barrelled weapons, including<br />

automatic rifles and some trophy pieces, and incomplete uniforms. 4588<br />

2170. Stanko Erstić, a Croat from Medvida 4589 , stated that Martić’s Militia were armed with<br />

automatic rifles made in Serbia by the Zastava factory. 4590 Witness JF-006 testified that<br />

Martić’s police recruits, who had been trained at Golubić, were armed with automatic rifles,<br />

which they brought back from Golubić after training. 4591 Martić’s Police had mortars of<br />

around 60 millimetres, but no tanks or howitzers. 4592<br />

2171. Witness C-1211, a Croat from Hrvatska Dubica in Kostajnica municipality, 4593 stated<br />

that on 23 July 1991 he saw a military helicopter land in the forest. He then saw Branko<br />
