fulfilling the role of Chief of Section of the American Intelligence Service with, the title of<br />

Senior Inspector, in the DB Second Administration in Belgrade and on 8 January 1991, he<br />

was formally appointed to that role effective as of 15 December 1990. 2287 On 29 April 1992,<br />

Stanišić appointed Simatović to the post of Deputy Chief of the DB Second Administration<br />

under the title of senior inspector, effective as of 1 <strong>May</strong> 1992. 2288 According to staffing<br />

specifications, in the DB Second Administration there were a total of 95 employees. 2289<br />

Ljubomir Ristić, a Serbian DB employee since 1972, 2290 testified that as of January 1992, the<br />

Second Administration of the Serbian DB dealt with intelligence matters outside Serbia. 2291<br />

1285. On 12 <strong>May</strong> 1993, Jovica Stanišić appointed Simatović as a Special adviser in the DB<br />

with the title of Senior Inspector, effective as of 1 <strong>May</strong> 1993. 2292 According to staffing<br />

specifications for the DB, there were a total of six special adviser positions. 2293 According to<br />

several MUP personnel documents, Simatović retired from his employment with the MUP on<br />

<strong>30</strong> December 2001. 2294 The Trial Chamber has received evidence from witnesses which is<br />

consistent with the documentary evidence reviewed above. 2295<br />
