1582. The witness recognized four persons he knew on four questionnaire documents which
the witness believed to relate to the Captain Dragan Fund. 3103 The questionnaires were
applications for financial aid relating to wounded or deceased persons who were wounded or
killed while on duty between May 1992 and May 1993. 3104 According to these questionnaires,
Goran Ðurić, Milomir Todić, and Slobodan Katanić joined a unit under the command of
Božović (referred to as the Red Berets Special Purposes Battalion in Bosanski Petrovo Selo;
the Serbian police Red Berets; and the Special Purpose Petrovo Police, Black Berets in Doboj
in their respective questionnaires) in April and May 1992. 3105 According to the questionnaire
of Mladen Makrić, he joined the Red Berets 2nd Ozren Sabotage Group on 30 May 1992 at
the Ozren Mountain. 3106 The witness recognized the family name of the applicant on a fifth
questionnaire, Duško Dobrić. 3107 According to the questionnaire, Dobrić had joined the
Serbian MUP on 12 April 1992 as an instructor, under the command of Božović and
“Frenki”. 3108
1583. Witness JF-005 testified that while manning a checkpoint around May-June 1992, he
observed officers from Serbia arrive at the Special Unit’s headquarters in Ćaćinovac as well
as at the Vila centre in a jeep, although the witness and others were not allowed to meet
them. 3109 One of the officers looked similar to Simatović. 3110 Božović had told the witness
that the chief would come, which the witness supposed referred to Frenki Simatović, the
commander of the Serbian DB Special Units. 3111 In May or June 1992, in Doboj, Božović
showed the witness and other Red Beret members a picture of Frenki Simatović and told them
to let this man pass through the gate without an ID-check. Aside from Božović, Vuk, and
Riki, Frenki Simatović was the only person the witness was aware of who could pass without
