M.Tech. SPOT ADMISSION<br />
Spot admission for the vacant seats in various M.Tech. programmes at National Institute of<br />
Technology, Calicut will be held as per the following schedule:<br />

Eligibility:<br />
Those who have secured at least 60% marks / CGPA of 6.5 in the qualifying degree (55% marks<br />
/ CGPA of 6.0 in the case of SC/ST candidates) with a valid GATE score (2012 or 2013),<br />
registered ONLINE for the Centralized Counseling for M.Tech. Admissions, 2013 (CCMT 2013)<br />
process and belonging to the following categories only are eligible:<br />
(i) Candidates who have not been allotted any seat in any of the four rounds<br />
or<br />
(ii) Candidates who were allotted seat in any of the four rounds in CCMT 2013 process and<br />
did not report at any of the CCMT 2013 participating NITs<br />
or<br />
(iii) Candidates who were allotted seat and reported at any of the CCMT 2013 participating<br />
NITs and then cancelled the seat<br />
Note : Those who have taken admission already through CCMT 2013 process and wish to<br />
participate in the spot admission have to cancel the admission obtained earlier on or before<br />
26.07.2013.<br />
Vacancy status for spot admission will be displayed in our website on 27-07-2013.<br />
Registration for Spot Admission : The eligible candidates should register for spot admission in<br />
person on 30.07.2013 between 9.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. Those who come after 10.00 a.m. will not<br />
be allowed for registration.<br />
Selection Process: Seats will be allotted to the eligible candidates based on GATE score (2012<br />
or 2013) only. In the case of equal GATE scores, the same tie-breaking methods adopted by<br />
CCMT 2013 will be applicable.
Original Documents<br />
In case a candidate gets a seat, he/she has to pay the institute fee and produce the following<br />
documents in original for verification, failing which his/her seat allotment will be cancelled<br />
and that seat will be allotted to the next registered candidate in the list.<br />
(i) Copy of CCMT 2013 Application Form<br />
(ii) GATE score card (2012/2013)<br />
(iii) Class X (High School) Board Certificate as proof of date of birth<br />
(iv) Consolidated Grade/Mark sheet of qualifying examination<br />
(v) Degree / Provisional certificate, if degree is completed<br />
(vi) Certificate of category (OBC / SC / ST), if applicable, issued by the competent authority<br />
(OBC certificate (non-creamy layer) should have been obtained on or after 1.4.2013)<br />
(vii) Certificate for Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates (if applicable)<br />
(viii) Course completion certificate (for Candidates awaiting results)<br />
(ix) Demand Draft for Institute Fee<br />
Institute fee: The seat allotted candidate has to pay the institute fee of Rs.25,302/- in the form<br />
of DD drawn in favour of “The Director, NIT Calicut” payable at State Bank of<br />
India, NIT Calicut Branch (Code No.2207) on the same day.<br />
Hostel Fee: In case hostel accommodation is required, the candidate has to pay the hostel fee<br />
of Rs.13,000/- in the form of DD drawn in favour of “The Chief Warden,<br />
NITC Hostels” payable at State Bank of India, NIT Calicut Branch (Code<br />
No.2207) on the same day.<br />
