the employee’s request is granted by the Employer and the employee is<br />

then scheduled <strong>of</strong>f on December 24 and/or December 31, such day <strong>of</strong>f<br />

shall constitute the employee’s Christmas and/or New Year’s Day holiday<br />

<strong>of</strong>f, and payment for work performed on December 25 and/or January 1<br />

shall be a non-holiday.<br />

The following section applies to St. Francis only:<br />

A. Eligibility. All regular associates (20 hours or more per week or 40 hours or<br />

more per pay period) are eligible for and accrue PTO credits. Wage option, per diem and<br />

temporary employees are not eligible for PTO accrual or use.<br />

B. Vesting. All PTO is vested as earned.<br />

C. Accrual<br />

(1) PTO shall be accrued on an hourly basis; i.e., one-tenth <strong>of</strong> an hour<br />

for each hour worked, in accordance with each employee’s years<br />

<strong>of</strong> service with Employer. The following table is provided for<br />

comparison purposes:<br />

(2) PTO is accrued only on regular hours worked and, effective<br />

1/1/2011, HC time. PTO shall be accrued on an hourly basis,<br />

simplifying part-time accruals.<br />

(3) Paid Time Off hours accrue on an hourly basis, adding to the hours<br />

previously accrued, unless the associate exceeds the maximum<br />

allowable accrual.<br />

(4) The maximum allowable accrual <strong>of</strong> PTO hours for each associate<br />

is twice the associate’s annual accrual. If at any time, an<br />

associate’s total accrued PTO hours exceed the limit, that associate<br />

will cease to accrue further PTO hours until the associate uses<br />

enough time to bring the accrued PTO below the maximum limit.<br />
