At Seton and O’Connor only: An employee shall not be required to provide translation and/or interpreting services for the Hospital. An employee agreeing to provide such services shall do so only on a voluntary basis and shall be held harmless for any legal or other adverse action arising from an alleged misrepresentation or misinterpretation as a result of translating or interpreting activities. L. Standby At Saint Louise only: Any employee who has been instructed to be “on standby” but who is not called to work, shall be paid at the rate of one-half (½) his or her straight time hourly rate of pay when “on standby”. An employee who has been instructed to be “on standby” on a recognized holiday named in Article 20, who is not called to work, shall be paid at the rate of three-fourths (3/4) his or her straight-time hourly rate of pay when “on standby”. Employees who are on standby during a recognized holiday and who are not called in to work shall be given the option to use PTO for that day in addition to receiving their holiday standby pay. Such employees who have been instructed to be “on standby” on a recognized holiday named in Article 20, who are not called to work, shall be paid at the rate of three-fourths (3/4) his or her straight-time hourly rate of pay when “on standby”. Such employees who are on standby during a recognized holiday and who are not called in to work shall be given the option to use PTO for that day in addition to receiving their holiday standby pay. Such employees who are called in to work shall be paid at time and one-half (1½) the straight time hourly rate, with standby pay of one-half (½) time continuing through the entire shift, with a guarantee of two (2) hours work or pay. A Radiology Technologist shall be paid at time and onehalf (1½) the straight time hourly rate, with standby pay of one-half (½) continuing through the entire shift, with a guarantee of one (1) hour work or pay. Each employee on “standby” who is called in to work and is extended beyond the guarantees set forth above shall be paid in one-quarter (1/4) hour increments. An employee is “On-Call” status when she/he is scheduled or asked to be available by phone or beeper for the purpose of coming back to the facility if required by staffing levels, and is required to report if called. b. An employee is on “Call-Back” when an employee, who was on on-call status, is called back to the facility if required by staffing levels. 51
