$2.10 per hour<br />

(b) All other classifications:<br />

$1.10 per hour<br />

At St. Francis:<br />

1. Per Diem Rates: Technical Per Diem employees shall be paid 15% above<br />

and Service and Maintenance employees 5% above the employee’s base rates<br />

assigned in the wage scale attached as Appendix C or the current wage, whichever<br />

is greater.<br />

2. Pay in Lieu <strong>of</strong> Benefits: Employer shall pay “Pay in Lieu <strong>of</strong> Benefit” rates<br />

at fifteen percent (15%) above the base rates. Employees currently working as<br />

Pay in Lieu <strong>of</strong> Benefits may continue to work in such status; other employees may<br />

be hired into or converted to such status at the employees’ discretion.<br />

All LHMs:<br />

Any employees on payroll at the time <strong>of</strong> ratification receiving more favorable in<br />

lieu <strong>of</strong> fringe benefit differential than provided for above shall retain their higher<br />

rates/ percentages.<br />

As an exception to the preceding paragraph, Casual, Temporary, and Limited<br />

Part-time employees shall be paid at time and one-half (1 l/2) the employee’s<br />

straight-time rate for all hours worked on a holiday shift.<br />

“Holidays,” for the purposes <strong>of</strong> this subparagraph, are those listed in Article 20,<br />

with the exception <strong>of</strong> the employee’s birthday.<br />

A “holiday shift” is one when the major portion <strong>of</strong> the shift falls on a holiday.<br />

K. Bilingual Services<br />

At Saint Louise and St. Francis only:<br />

An employee shall not be required to provide translation and/or interpreting<br />

services for the Hospital. An employee agreeing to provide such services shall do<br />

so only on a voluntary basis and shall be held harmless for any legal or other<br />

adverse action arising from an alleged misrepresentation or misinterpretation as a<br />

result <strong>of</strong> translating or interpreting activities.<br />

An employee who has volunteered to provide translating or interpreting services<br />

and who has been designated by the Hospital as an interpreter or translator<br />

pursuant to the provisions <strong>of</strong> California Health and Safety Code Section<br />
