If an employee transfers from full-time or part-time to per diem status, she or he<br />
shall not lose his or her seniority and such seniority shall continue to accrue.<br />
At Seton, O’Connor and Saint Louise<br />
G. Seniority Defined.<br />
At Seton: Seniority shall be defined as the most recent date <strong>of</strong> hire into a bargaining unit<br />
position covered by this Agreement.<br />
A Casual employee’s length <strong>of</strong> service for the purpose <strong>of</strong> job bidding and for allocation<br />
<strong>of</strong> casual shifts commences on the most recent date <strong>of</strong> continuous bargaining unit service<br />
as a Casual.<br />
At Saint Louise. Employees in bargaining unit positions as <strong>of</strong> August 14, 2002 shall<br />
receive a seniority date based on each employee’s most recent date <strong>of</strong> hire with the<br />
Employer. For those employees hired after August 14, 2002 into a bargaining unit<br />
position, seniority shall be defined as the most recent date <strong>of</strong> hire into a bargaining unit<br />
position.<br />
A Per Diem or Limited Part-time employee who is reclassified as a Regular employee<br />
shall receive a seniority date as <strong>of</strong> such employee’s most recent date <strong>of</strong> bargaining unit<br />
employment, including Per Diem and Limited Part-time employment.<br />
At O’Connor: Employees in bargaining unit positions as <strong>of</strong> April 2, 2002 shall receive a<br />
seniority date based on the employee’s most recent date <strong>of</strong> hire with the Employer. For<br />
those employees hired after April 2, 2002 into a bargaining unit position, seniority shall<br />
be defined as the most recent date <strong>of</strong> hire into a bargaining unit position.<br />
A Per Diem or Limited Part-time employee who is reclassified as a Regular employee<br />
shall receive a seniority date as <strong>of</strong> such employee’s most recent date <strong>of</strong> bargaining unit<br />
employment, including Per Diem and Limited Part-time employment.<br />
H. Return to Unit. Any bargaining unit employee who accepts a non bargaining<br />
unit position with the Employers may return to the bargaining unit without a break in<br />
seniority, provided that there exists a vacancy to which he/she can return and that such<br />
return occurs within thirty (30) days <strong>of</strong> the acceptance <strong>of</strong> the non-bargaining unit<br />
position.<br />
I. Seniority List The Employers shall maintain seniority lists that will be provided<br />
to the Union once every six (6) months.<br />
J. Loss <strong>of</strong> Seniority: Seniority shall be terminated by:<br />
1. Discharge for cause;<br />
2. Resignation;<br />
