————–——–—————-Blue-Gray Show Fredericksburg VA February 11-15 2009 ———–——————-———-
Blue-Gray was a great time. Jeb flew in and roomed with Gary Deachman and myself. The show was good as
far as selling but I only got a M-3 Electro Chemical slider with a reps name (had never seen one with an agent
name on it), an E-6 Fernwood from PA and a couple of miscellaneous. I made a big trade with Larry Moter as he
got 4 of my 5 beer ice tongs and I got a nice P-Style Rochester Knife (EX), N-68-1 K B C (with worn blades), an A
-13-20 Chattanooga and a CBO (Hatchet Type HT-6, I collect all of that style). Also made a big trade with Deachman,
he got my mint A-17-15 Gold Nugget, A-15-25 Schwab, B-2-12 Savoy, K-6-1 Pearl & L-17-1 Schlitz. I got his
L-2-18 McAvoy, E-17-2 Mile High, E-28-2 Gund and K-14-1 Drewrys. I had been bugging Jim Osborn to trade me
his L-2 McAvoy and I had just completed that one. So you never know. It does give me 20 of the 24 known, just
one behind Uncle Norman. The show seemed to have about the same number of attendees as last year. The
local walk around seemed a little down. This show always has several area antique dealers and collectors attending
and it did not seem to be as many as usual. The weather for the most part was outstanding and our
room being outside, it helped a lot (weather being nice). People were buying but we also had the usual "I want
to look around and I will be back". Gary sold about $2000, I did $1800 and Jeb sold about $900. Not bad for
some old opener guys, though Gary's was mainly signs and trays.
