Galanthus ‘Hill Poe’, one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> neatest ‘double flowered’<br />
snowdrops, was first observed <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> garden <strong>of</strong> James Hill<br />
Poe <strong>in</strong> Nenagh.<br />
In <strong>the</strong> 1950’s bulbs were sent to <strong>the</strong> Giant Snowdrop Company <strong>in</strong> Gloucestershire,<br />
who <strong>in</strong>troduced <strong>the</strong> variety <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> commercial garden<strong>in</strong>g world. Galanthus ‘Hill Poe’<br />
was awarded a certificate <strong>of</strong> prelim<strong>in</strong>ary commendation <strong>in</strong> January 1974.
