<strong>Bulk</strong> <strong>Encryption</strong> Unit <strong>2.5G</strong><br />

The TJ1306 is a “Universal <strong>Encryption</strong> Plat<strong>for</strong>m” <strong>to</strong> encrypt high-speed traffic<br />

<strong>up</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>2.5G</strong>bps line rate. TJ1306 leverages <strong>Tejas</strong>’ stable telecom designs and<br />

large deployed base of tributary traffic modules, based on Field<br />

Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technology, and re-purposes them <strong>to</strong><br />

address the critical in<strong>for</strong>mation security needs of military, civilian agencies<br />

and other security-sensitive sec<strong>to</strong>rs such as finance and healthcare.<br />

Data and communication security is a critical issue in defense networks.<br />

When traffic is carried over radio-links or traverses a public network, the<br />

physical links are “<strong>Bulk</strong> Encrypted” at an interface level or at a link-level <strong>for</strong><br />

Open Processing: The TJ1306 provides a flexible FPGA design that can be<br />

cus<strong>to</strong>mized by authorized public sec<strong>to</strong>r agencies <strong>to</strong> incorporate<br />

military-specific secrecy algorithms. Also, key management & secrecy<br />

procedures required by Government can be built in<strong>to</strong> the System Controller<br />

Software.<br />

Multiservice Plat<strong>for</strong>m: The TJ1306 is a true multiservice encryption device<br />

that can be used <strong>to</strong> encrypt data, circuit and optical interfaces from the same<br />

shelf. It s<strong>up</strong>ports all standard interfaces such as E1, E3/DS3, Fast Ethernet,<br />

Gigabit Ethernet, STM-1, STM-4 and STM-16.<br />

Cost of Ownership: The TJ1306 eliminates s<strong>to</strong>ve-piped networks by<br />

ensuring that multiple technology media - copper, wireless or fiber- are<br />

s<strong>up</strong>ported on a single chassis and are readily secured.<br />

Link-layer <strong>Encryption</strong>: It does data encryption at OSI Layer 2 which is more<br />

bandwidth efficient than IP-level encryption on OSI Layer 3. Encrypting at<br />

Layer 2 optimizes s<strong>up</strong>port <strong>for</strong> latency-sensitive applications such as data<br />

center connectivity, disaster recovery and real-time video surveillance. By<br />

encrypting the Ethernet payload, all higher-layer IP addresses and pro<strong>to</strong>cols<br />

are secured against common attacks such as Denial of Service (DOS), IP<br />

Spoofing & Ping Flooding.<br />
