ORCAL Canopy is part of Armstrong’s 

extensive range of discontinuous ceilings and 

canopies. The canopies come in three different 

designs (flat, concave and convex) and give 

the designer or specifier the ability to: 

■ Create spaces or areas within larger 

spaces or rooms, adding definition and 

local acoustic comfort (speech intelligibility) 

to an area or working zone. 

■ Provide a high level of design flexibility as 

the canopies come in three different designs 

and can be used independently or as 

groups and arrays. 

The panels come with a high durability paint 

finish as standard, making them easy to clean 

and maintain. The canopies have an Extra 

Microperforation pattern that provides 

a clean visual with good acoustical and light 

reflectance performances. 

The canopy is fully enclosed ensuring that if 

the reverse face is visible it fully compliments 

the design.

OPtIMA is a low density product with 

glass wool as core material. Its white 

and strong surface is obtained by the 

application of an abrasion resistant paint 

on a glass fibre face scrim. 

the Board edges are painted to avoid 

the dispersion of fibres. to provide 

excellent mechanical strength, all products 

have a fibre glass fleece at the back and 

the tegular & MicroLook edges are 

reinforced and painted. 

OPtIMA provides the highest levels of 

sound absorption with an aw up to 1.00. 

this makes it an ideal product for open 

plan offices, cafeterias, or any other 

places where too much noise can be 

disruptive. 

Its fine textured white surface, similar 

to the ULtIMA finish (see p. 47), makes it 

an ideal solution in terms of aesthetics.

The BIOGUARD paint applied to mineral 

and metal tiles provides anti-microbial and 

clean room performance as well as good

Our corrosion resistant grid is galvanised 

and organically coated in accordance with 

Durability – Class of Exposure Class C 

(EN 13964: table 8). In addition it has been 

tested for salt spray corrosion in accordance

700 hours resistance.

Suitable for high pressure water cleaning

The BIOGUARD paint provides an excellent 

anti-microbial performance against various 

bacteriological strains. Directly applied to the 

smooth plain surface it provides a 85% light 

reflectance. 

Its ISO 5 cleanroom performance makes the 

product suitable for installation in hospital 

areas with average or severe risk of infection 

or any other cleanroom environment where 

anti-microbial performance is required. 

Thanks to its enhanced water repellency, 

the product can be washed. 

BIOGUARD ACOUSTIC provides a 

combination of performance solutions for the 

healthcare environment. 

With its acoustically transparent face scrim, 

the product provides a 0.60 aw, meeting 

acoustical requirements in hospitals. 

BIOGUARD ACOUSTIC has no pin-holes in

This low density product has rock wool 

as core material. Its reinforced glass scrim 

surface and sealed edges provide an ISO 5 

cleanroom performance and make the 

product suitable for high pressure water 

cleaning (max 80 bars)*. 

Thanks to the acoustically transparent face 

scrim and low density base board, the 

product achieves a 0.95 aW. 

* The application must be in the form of a fan spray 

of min 30° angle and not a high pressure “cutting” jet. 

The suggested minimum distance between the nozzle 

and the ceiling tile should not be less than 300 mm 

and the angle of projection should be 45°. 

PARAFON HYGIEN should be installed with Trulok 

Corrosive Resistant 24 mm grid and be clipped for high 

pressure water cleaning. Cleaning recommended twice a 

year.

CERAMAGUARD is made of a unique high 

density ceramic and mineral composite. 

This material provides 100% RH resistance 

including standing water and is resistant 

to chemical fumes. 

The product is durable, washable and 

scrubbable. 

It’s a totally inorganic product, resistant 

to growth of mold, mildew and bacteria. 

CERAMAGUARD provides good sound 

absorption and is ideal for swimming pools, 

locker rooms, shower areas and indoor 

parking garages.
