3. Complete the Implementation of the Electronic Time Keeping system (District Goals<br />

4. Implement an electronic pay stub system to eliminate paper checks <strong>and</strong> direct deposit<br />

Information Technology<br />
Mission<br />
The mission of the <strong>South</strong> <strong>Suburban</strong> Information Technology Department (IT) is to provide<br />
high quality, cost effective technology products <strong>and</strong> services that support the overall mission<br />
of <strong>South</strong> <strong>Suburban</strong> Park <strong>and</strong> <strong>Recreation</strong> District.<br />
Department Overview<br />
The Information Technology Department is responsible for developing all strategic <strong>and</strong><br />
operational planning related to District technology. This role includes acquisition,<br />
maintenance, <strong>and</strong> support of the District’s Local Area Networking (LAN), Wide Area<br />
Networking (WAN), desktop computers, <strong>and</strong> server computers. The IT Department is also<br />
responsible for providing office <strong>and</strong> email software to each facility, as well as providing<br />
high-speed internet access to the District. The IT Department is responsible for installing<br />
<strong>and</strong> maintaining all Network Operating Systems, Desktop Operating Systems, database<br />
systems, <strong>and</strong> for creating <strong>and</strong> maintaining remote VPN access. The District has built custom<br />
software that includes the public website, our Intranet, <strong>and</strong> our internal applications (Point of<br />
Sale, Registration, Facility Scheduling, Work Orders, League Management, Customer<br />
Relationship Management, <strong>and</strong> Self Check-in). The IT Department is responsible for<br />
developing <strong>and</strong> maintaining these applications in order to ensure that they are operational,<br />
useful, <strong>and</strong> up to date.<br />
Lastly, the IT Department is responsible for establishing <strong>and</strong> executing proper security<br />
measures for data <strong>and</strong> equipment. This includes creating <strong>and</strong> implementing District security<br />
policy, controlling physical access to servers, implementing authority rights <strong>and</strong> audit<br />
controls, installation of an anti-virus system, secure configuration of the District firewalls,<br />
data encryption, data backup, intrusion detection, intrusion prevention, data restoration <strong>and</strong><br />
disaster recovery.<br />
