records from before <strong>the</strong> second World War also reveal <strong>in</strong>cidental heavy<br />
Phseocysris blooms <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> sou<strong>the</strong>rn North Sea (personal comnlcation<br />
S.H.R. hip) which make <strong>the</strong> position of <strong>the</strong> flagellate as an <strong>in</strong>dicator<br />
oven weaker.
