Further analysis of the correlation between married female teenagers and levels of other social deprivation measures are presented and discussed later in Chapter eight. 2.6 Female Headed Households 2.6.1 The proportion of female headed households, which is an indicator of women’s changing roles in society, has increased from 13.8 per cent in 2001 to 15.6 per cent in 2011, with very minimal difference between urban (14 per cent) and rural areas (16 per cent). Chittagong division, with 23.1 per cent female headed households has the highest and Khulna with 11.5 per cent has the lowest proportion of households headed by females (Figure 2.3). The spatial distribution is presented in Map 2.9.
