Osmotically acting laxatives<br />

Various saline purgatives and e.g. lactulose, which is primarily considered an<br />

osmotically acting substance, are classified in this group. Magnesium hydroxide is<br />

classified as an antacid in QA02AA - Magnesium compounds.<br />

Combinations with contact laxatives are classified in QA06AB - Contact laxatives.<br />

Combinations of lactulose with liquid paraffin should be classified in QA06AD61.<br />

Enemas<br />

All enemas and laxative rectal solutions are classified in this group, regardless of<br />

mode of action. Combined packages containing tablets and enemas are classified in<br />

this group.<br />
